V <br />r <br />SPECIAL MEETING SEPTEMBER 20TH, 1954 <br />A special meeting is hereby,called by the President of the Common Council of the City of South Bend to be held <br />this date in the Council Chamber, City Hall, at 10:15 P.M. to consider a Resolution for the purpose of naming <br />Mr. James J. Nance as "Honorary Citizen of the City of South Bend ". <br />vv(zr)T TrrTOIT <br />WHEREAS: The merger of the Studebaker and Packard organizations has opened a new era in the industrial life <br />in this community and <br />WHEREAS: Mr. James J. Nance has been named president of the new corporation and <br />WHEREAS: Mr. Nance has expressed his faith in the future of South Bend by word and deed, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the Civil.City of South Bend, Indiana that on Thursday, <br />October 7, 1954 Mr. James J. Nance be named "Honorary Citizen of the City of South Bend" and that the Mayor <br />be requested to present this award to Mr. Nance and to provide him with a suitable momento of the occasion. <br />Done at South Bend, Indiana this 4th day of October, 1951. <br />WALTER C.
