SPECIAL MEETING <br />AUGUST 2ND, 1954 <br />Be itMnaewhbrddthat the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session in the Council <br />Chamber on Monday, August 2nd, 1954, at 8:14 P.M., Daylight Savings Time, with all members present except <br />Councilman Pinter. <br />STATE OF INDIANA ) SS: <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND ) <br />CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING <br />To the President, and Members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />Gentlemen: <br />You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by law as Mayor of the City of <br />South Bend, in the State of Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to <br />meet in the Council Chamber, in the City Hall at the hour.of 7:00 P.M. Central Standard Time (8:00 P.M. C.D.T.), <br />on Monday, August 2nd, 1954, for the purpose of considering the following ordinances, to wit: <br />"AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING <br />THE EXPENSES OF ALL BUDGET- OPERATED DEPARTMENTS OF THE CIVIL <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING <br />JANUARY 1, 1955, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1955, INCLUDING <br />DEPARTMENTS, FUNDS AND CQ)1MISSIONS FOR WHICH MONEY IS <br />APPROPRIATED, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM FUNDS OTHER THAN THE <br />GENERAL FUNDS, OF SAID CITY, TO -WIT: STREET, TRAFFIC AND <br />PARK DEPARTMENTS, FIR AEN'S PENSION AND POLICEMEN'S PENSION <br />FUNDS, .AN- THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION: PROVIDING THAT SUCH <br />APPROPRIATIONS SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND <br />OBLIGATIONS: FIXING THE SALARIES OF ALL CITY OFFICIALS AND <br />EMPLOYEES, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES <br />IN CONFLICT HEREWITH: PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL <br />TAKE EFFECT." <br />ALSO <br />"AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1955 FOR THE <br />_MUNICIPAL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:" <br />The Chief of Police or any members of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this <br />notice on each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting. <br />Dated this 28th day of July, 1954. <br />JOHN A.
