ZONING & ANNEXATION <br />AUGUST 12.2013 3:40 P.M. <br />Committee Members Present: Dr. Fred Ferlic, Oliver Davis (EXAB), Henry Davis (AB), Gavin Ferlic <br />Citizen Members Present: Marcus Ellison (AB), Kyle Chamberlin <br />Other Council Present: Tim Scott, Valerie Schey, Dr. David Varner (AB), Karen White, Derek Dieter <br />Others Present: John Byorni, Larry Magliozzi , Chuck Bulot, Kathryn Roos, Jack Smith, Aladean <br />DeRose, Erin Blasko, Tom Williamowski <br />Agenda: - Bill No# 13 -49 Special Exception - 1724 S. Main <br />- Update Text Area Plan Commission (APC) <br />Dr. Ferlic called to order this Zoning & Annexation Committee with two items on the agenda. <br />The first was bill 13 -49, a request for a special exception to allow an exercise facility in an industrial area. <br />The exception was to allow only 40 parking spaces from the required 334. <br />Building Commissioner Chuck Blot endorsed the request adding that the APC had voted unanimously for <br />a favorable recommendation. <br />Tom Willamowski, owner of the gymnastics studio seeking the exception explained his business had <br />been in operation for 40 years at the YMCA; but had been asked to relocate. <br />Karen White asked if there were any questions from nearby residents. She was told that neighbors, had <br />been contacted and were supportive. <br />Gavin Ferlic Moved to recommend favorably. Kyle Chamberlin seconded and all supported. <br />The second item on the agenda was presented by Larry Magliozzi, Chief Deputy of the Area Plan <br />Commission. Larry asked the council to note five recommended "tweaks" in the zoning code to update <br />language that was more inclusive or illustrative to several definitions.
