ING <br />RESOLUTION <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACTS OF PURCHASE <br />ENTERED INTO BY BOARD OF WATER WORKS <br />COMMISSIONERS. <br />S EPTEMBER 14TH, 1953 <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the following contracts copies of which are on file in the office of the Board, entered <br />into on the 28th day of August, 1953 by the Hoard of Water Works Commissioners of the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />be, and the same are, hereby in all things confirmed and approved; <br />Burroughs Adding Machine Co. <br />Addressograph- Multigraph Corp. <br />2 F301 Special 110AC60 <br />Billing Machines @ <br />$3663.00 each less 10/ <br />Government Discount <br />Total - - - - - - - - - $ 6,593940 <br />1 9143 Automatic Accounting <br />Addressograph Machine <br />--- - - - - -- - $11,368.25 <br />1 7100 Addressograph Keypunch <br />Machine + .. 921.00 <br />350000 J19 -111A Sensing <br />Frames and plates embossed <br />and keypunched w - - 5,320.00 <br />Total - - - - - - - - - $ 17,609.25 <br />Walter C. Erler Sr. <br />Member of the Gommon Council <br />The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the ordinance on truck passing be held up for thirty days. Councilman <br />Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the Furnace Ordinance be referred to a special committee for further study. <br />Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />President Erler named members of the Miscellaneous Committee (Councilmen Bestle, Erler and Muszynski) to serve <br />on the committee. <br />Coun' lman Korpal made.a motion that the Board of Public Works meet with officials of the New York Central <br />Railroad and the Council Committee (Councilmen Muszynski, Glass and Korpal) to further discuss elimination of <br />smoke from switch engines in the vicinity of the 1300 block of Wo Dunham St. Councilman Niezgodski seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that the City Water Supt. Edwin Turnock be notified to appear at the next <br />Council meeting on September 28th to explain plans for additional wells and also report on what is being done. <br />about the water pressure in the vicinity of W. Ewing Ave. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. _Motion <br />carried. <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that the Housing Authority send a representative to the next Council meeting on <br />September 28th for an explanation of the government's intention to sell the Southmdre Heights, Beacon Heights, <br />B. G. Smith Homes and Prairie Homes wartime emergency housing projects. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to adjourn, which motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Hahne Motion carried, and Council adjourned at 8 :57 P.M. <br />ATTEST: <br />CLERK - DEPII <br />APPROVED: <br />PRESIDENT <br />
