w <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING <br />O t <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in thp-Commi.ttee of the Whole <br />meeting in the Council Chamber, Monday, March 23rd, 1953, at 8 :02 P.M., with all members present except Counci" <br />Bestle., Chairman Hahn presided. <br />ORDDINANCE <br />"An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3702 commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance ". Councilmai Korpal made a <br />motion that the ordinance be held in the Committee of the Whole until next meeting on April 13th, Councilman. <br />Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried. (Lot 20 in Sommers Addition). <br />ORDINANCE <br />"An Ordinance transferring monies from M -216, Building Department, Traveling Expense, Electrical Department, <br />$100.00 to M -711, Properties for Electrical Department (To purchase T.V. Testing Equipment); from P -11, Police <br />Salaries, $294.50 to E -11, Office of City Judge, Salary of Bailiff (To bring salary up to 9/ increase for 1953); <br />from L -724, Engineer Properties, $1300.00 to Engineer L -11, Services Personal (for hiring summer -time draftsman); <br />from P -11, Police Department, Services Personal, $2500.00 to P -334, Police Department, Other Garage and Motor <br />Supplies ", <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the ordinance be held..in the Committee of the Whole until next meeting on <br />April. 13th. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT, OF COMMITTEE <br />Your Committee on Ordinance for Electrical Code recommends to the Council that the Ordinance be adopted as <br />amended. We herewith submit to the Council the Ordinance submitted to the Council and which has had 1st and 2nd <br />reading, also a copy of Ordinance showing amendments marked in the Ordinance after it has had lst and 2nd reading, <br />also a copy of Ordinance as amended prepared for passage* <br />(Si gned) WALTER C. GLASS <br />ORDINANCE N0. 3913 (AS AMENDED) <br />"An Ordinance for safeguarding persons and property and promoting the welfare of the public: creating the office <br />of Electrical Inspector and prescribing his duties: establishing standards for electrical equipment and for its <br />installation and requiring conformity therewithr making it unlawful to undertake the installation of electrical <br />equipment without a permit therefore, and creating an electrical examining board and a board of review and <br />prescribing their dutiest providing for the licensing of persons, farms, and corporations undertaking the <br />installation of electrical equipment, and operators of moving picture projectors, and electrical contractors <br />and dealers in electrical equipment, and making it unlawful to undertake the installation of electrical equipment <br />or operation of moving picture projectors without a license except as otherwise providedt providing penalties <br />for the violation of this ordinance, and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith% <br />Councilman Muszynski. made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council favorable as amended, and that the report <br />of the Committee be accepted. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business °before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Korpal made a motion to adjourn, <br />which motion was seconded by Councilman Muszynski.
