851 <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING _ — -- -- FEBRUA.RY 9TH, 1953 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole <br />meeting in the Council Chamber, Monday, February 9th, 1953, at 8:04 P.M., with all members present. Chairman <br />Hahn presided. <br />ORDINANCE <br />"A,n. Ordinance prohibiting the passing of motor vehicles by trucks, trailers and certain other vehicles on public <br />streets in the City of South Bend, Indiana". <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the President appoint a committee to meet with the trucking industries and <br />report back to the next Council meeting on March 9th, Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />President Erler referred the ordinance to the Traffic and Transportation committee with Councilman Glass, Erler, <br />Hahn, Korpal and Niezgodski to serve on the committee. <br />ORDINANCE <br />"An Ordinance for safeguarding persons and property and promoting the welfare of the public; creating the office <br />of electrical inspector and prescribing his duties; establishing standards for electrical equipment and for its <br />installation and requiring conformity therewith: making it unlawful to undertake the installation of electrical <br />equipment without a permit therefor, and creating an electrical examining board and a board of review and <br />prescribing their duties: providing for the licensing by the electrical examining board of persons, firms, and <br />corporations undertaking the installation of .electrical equipment, and operators of moving picture projectors, <br />and electrical contractors and dealers in electrical equipment., and making it unlawful to undertake the installat'_ <br />of- electrical equipment or operation of moving picture projectors without a license except as otherwise provided; <br />providing penalties for the violation of this ordinance, and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in <br />conflict herewith". <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the ordinance be held up until the next meeting on March 9th. Counci <br />Muszynski secondeohe motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Glass made a motion to adjourn, <br />which motion was seconded by Councilman Bestle.
