July 31, 2013
Members of The Common Council
City of South Bend, IN
46001
Re: Alley Vacation Submittal
Hartman Drive
Members of The Common Council,
I urge you to adopt this proposed ordinance for the "Vacation of a portion of Hartman Drive ". I see the
addition of this useable lot as a benefit to the neighborhood known as Wooded Estates. The future
potential to bring in another single family residence will not only provide much tax revenue for the
City & County, but it will also add to the neighborhood as a whole. All through Wooded Estates you
can see the pride that homeowners have in the upgrades they are undertaking. Not only do these
upgrades enhance the homes and landscapes themselves, they also help to bring the neighborhood
together in a sense of accomplishment and security, for the future. As the neighborhood itself attracts
new and younger families you can sense the vitality that follows. The proposed ordinance does nothing
to detract from that potential and, in fact, will allow an under - utilized portion help further that sense of
accomplishment and community.
Respectfully,
William F.
