REGULAR MEETING REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: JULY 23RD. 1951 736 Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance requiring the New York Central Railroad Company and the New Jersey, Indiana and Illinois Railroad Company to provide and maintain automatic flash light signals and short -arm gates at the grade crossing of the tracks of said railroad companies where the same intersect with Western Avenue for the protection of human life, providing for penalties for the violation thereof, and repealing all ordinances in conflict herewith ". Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the Council as favorable. STANLEY C. KORPAL, Chairman Councilman Tellson made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried. Respectfully report,that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the Council as favorable. STANLEY C. ORDINANCE NO. 3828 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. (190 Acres East of Miami St. and North of Ireland Rd.) The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays. ORDINANCE NO. 3829 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE ANNUAL SALARY OF THE SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CITY COURT PROBATION OFFICER; AND APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF SAID CITY THE SUM OF THREE HUNDRED NINETY -EIGHT DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS ($398.50) TO THE 1951 BUDGETARY ITEM, SERVICES PERSONAL, IN THE OFFICE OF CITY JUDGE; REPEALING ANY AND ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES, AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays.
