REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 20,2003 <br /> The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m.on Monday,February <br /> 24, 2003, by Board President Gary A. Gilot, with Mr. Carl P. Littrell present. Board Member <br /> Donald E.Inks was not present. Also present was Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br /> APPROVE AGENDA <br /> Upon a motion made by Mr.Gilot,seconded by Mr.Littrell and carried,the agenda for February 24, <br /> 2003 was approved. <br /> APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br /> Upon a motion made by Mr.Littrell,seconded by Mr.Gilot and carried,the minutes of the agenda <br /> session and the regular meeting of the Board held on February 6 and February 10, 2003 were <br /> approved. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING-LICENSE APPLICATION-TRANSIENT MERCHANT-SHIP SHE WANA <br /> ON THE ROAD <br /> Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a License <br /> Application for a Transient Merchant,as submitted by Ms.Julie Lepper, 10740 Three Mile Road, <br /> East Leroy,Michigan,to conduct the sale of clothing,crafts,toys,and miscellaneous items at the <br /> Century Center, South Bend, Indiana, February 15 and 16, 2003. It was noted that favorable <br /> recommendations were received by the Police Department,Fire Department,Building Department <br /> and the Legal Department. <br /> There being no one present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter,the Public Hearing <br /> was closed. Therefore,upon a motion made by Mr.Gilot,seconded by Mr.Littrell and carried,the <br /> License Application was approved. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING - LICENSE APPLICATION - TRANSIENT MERCHANT - ST. JOSEPH <br /> COUNTY 4-H FAIR <br /> Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a License <br /> Application for a Transient Merchant,as submitted by Mr.Frank Ronchetti,4H Fairgrounds,5117 <br /> South Ironwood,South Bend,Indiana,for 2003 annual events at the fairgrounds. It was noted that <br /> favorable recommendations were received by the Police Department, Fire Department,Building <br /> Department and the Legal Department. <br /> There being no one present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter,the Public Hearing <br /> was closed. Therefore,upon a motion made by Mr.Littrell,seconded by Mr.Gilot and carried,the <br /> License Application was approved. <br /> OPENING OF BIDS-2003 PUBLIC WORKS PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM-SIDEWALK CURB <br /> APPROACH,RAMP AND TREELAWN IMPROVEMENTS-PROJECT NO 103-022 <br /> This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The <br /> Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br /> which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br /> MCINTYRE AND JONES CONSTRUCTION LLC <br /> 2526 West Sixth Street <br /> Mishawaka,Indiana 46544 <br /> Bid was signed by Mr.Jeffery Bradley,Managing Member <br /> Non-Collusion Affidavit was in order <br /> Non-Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br /> Five per cent(5%)Bid Bond was submitted <br /> BID: <br /> Zone 1 $222,296.50 <br /> Zone 2 $222,296.50 <br />
