REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 13, 2004 RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. 25200 State Road 23 South Bend, Indiana 46614 Bid was signed by Mr. Todd Gosc Non-Collusion Affidavit was in order Non-Discrimination Commitment form was completed Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: $378,428.00 Upon a motion made by Mr.Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried,the above bids were referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. OPENING OF BIDS/AWARD BID - SALE OF FIRE DEPARTMENT . - PUMPER/LADDER TRUCK/SNORKEL This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: TOWN OF CLOVERDALE 152 South Main Street Cloverdale, Indiana 46120 Bid was signed by Mr. John Davis BID: 1983 Snorkel $12,000.00 1973 Mack Pumper $ 500.00 DANIEL BERNTH 1142 Lincolnway East South Bend, Indiana 46601 Bid was signed by Mr. Daniel Bernth BID: 1978 Pirsch Ladder Truck $500.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell,seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried,the above bids were referred to the Fire Department for review and recommendation. After reviewing the bids, Chief Rick Switalski recommends that the Board award the contract to the highest bidder,Town of Cloverdale, 152 South Main Street, Cloverdale, Indiana, in the amount of$12,500.00. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion which carried. AWARD BID - SEVENTY-EIGHT (78) FIREHAWK AIR MASK UNITS (EMCIF/2004 FIRE ACT GRANT AWARD Fire Chief Robert Quinn advised the Board that on November 22,2004,one(1)bid was received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing the bid,Chief Quinn recommends that the Board award the contract to the sole bidder, 5 Alarm, 704 Oak Street,Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, in the amount of$330,854.00, which includes items 1-12, less the trade of$15,000.00. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried. AWARD BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES Mr. Gary Libbey, Code Enforcement, advised the Board that on November 22, 2004, bids were received and opened for the above referred to vehicles. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Libbey recommends that the Board award the bids to the highest bidders as follows:
