REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 27, 2004 <br /> OPENING OF BIDS/AWARD BID - WABASH STREET SANITARY SEWER AND STORM <br /> SEWER EXTENSION - PROJECT NO, 104-045 BOND <br /> This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The <br /> Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br /> which were found to be sufficient. One (1) submitted bid was opened and publicly read: <br /> HRP CONSTRUCTION <br /> Post Office Box 266 <br /> South Bend, Indiana 46624-0266 <br /> Bid was signed by Mr. Paul Fallon <br /> Non-Collusion Affidavit was in order <br /> Non-Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br /> Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br /> BID: $297,358.00 <br /> Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried,the above bid was referred <br /> to the Engineering Department for review and recommendation. After reviewing the bid,Mr. Jason <br /> Durr, Engineering, recommends that the Board award the contract to HRP Construction in the <br /> amount of$297,358.00. Therefore,Mr.Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted <br /> and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. <br /> OPENING OF QUOTATIONS/REJECT QUOTATION - DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS - <br /> BENDIX AT NICTD RAILROAD CROSSING (AIRPORT TIF) <br /> This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed quotations for the above referred to project. <br /> One (1) quotation was opened and publicly read: <br /> HRP CONSTRUCTION <br /> Post Office Box 266 <br /> South Bend, Indiana 46624 <br /> QUOTATION: $29,915.00 <br /> Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above quotation was <br /> referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. After reviewing the <br /> quotation,Mr.Jason Durr,Engineering,recommends that the Board reject the quotation. Therefore, <br /> Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the sole quotation rejected. Mr. <br /> Littrell seconded the motion which carried. <br /> AWARD BID - RIBOURDE/BOLAND INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS - PROJECT NU <br /> 104-041 (LRSA) <br /> Mr. Jason Durr,Engineering,advised the Board that on September 20,2004,bids were received and <br /> opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids,Mr. Durr recommends that the <br /> Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder,Rieth Riley Construction, <br /> 25200 State Road, South Bend,Indiana,in the amount of$144,729.00. Therefore,Mr.Littrell made <br /> a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks <br /> seconded the motion which carried. <br /> AWARD BID -BROOKFIELD STORM SEWER-PROJECT NO 104-053 (SEWER REVENUE <br /> BOND) <br /> Mr.Jason Durr,Engineering,advised the Board that on September 20,2004,bids were received and <br /> opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids,Mr. Durr recommends that the <br /> Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Selge Construction,2833 <br /> South 11" Street, Niles, Michigan, in the amount of$790,970.65. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a <br /> motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks <br /> seconded the motion which carried. <br />
