j40 APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREETS - HILLCREST FROM POKAGON TONTI AND PARKOVASH FROM HILLCREST TO LAFAYETTE - ANNUAL SUMMER PICNIC Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Traffic and Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Cecilia Lucero, 133 Wakewa Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on August 28,2004,from 10:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - MICHIGAN FROM WASHINGTON TO WAYNE - ART BEAT 2004 Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting,Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Denise Zigler,Morris Performing Arts Center, South Bend,Indiana„to conduct the above referred to event on September 9, 2004, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT RILEY HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING PARADE Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting, Park. Department,Police Department and the City Attorney's office,in reference to a request as submitted by Dr. James Cohen, Riley High School, 1902 South Fellows, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on October 8, 2004, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION-TO CLOSE STREET-MICHIGAN FROM PARKING LOT OF MORRIS TO COLFAX - FRIDAYS BY THE FOUNTAIN Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting,Police Department and the City Attorney's office,in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Sara Ermeti, Morris Performing Arts Center, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on September 3, 2004, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION-TO CLOSE STREET-KENMORE FROM WESTERN TO JEFFERSON - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting,Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Shalena Jackson, 323 South Kenmore, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on September 5,2004, from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - HAWTHORNE FROM WILSON TO WASHINGTON - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting,Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms, Kathleen Kusbach, 128 South Hawthorne, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on September 4, 2004, from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF GRANT OF EASEMENT- OLIVE ROAD Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Grant of Easement was approved. This Grant of Easement to American Electric Power is for easements rights along Olive Road in conjunction with the road expansion project in the Airport Economic Development Area. APPROVAL OF GRANT OF TEMPORARY EASEMENT INSTALLATION/MAINTENANCE OF STAIRCASE ON DERUE COURT Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried,this item was added back onto the agenda. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the above referred to easement was approved.
