SPECIAL MEETING MAY 17, 2004 <br /> The special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m. on Monday, May 17, <br /> 2004,by Mr. Carl P. Littrell with Mr. Donald E. Inks and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar present. <br /> President Gary Gilot was absent. <br /> AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br /> Upon a motion by Mr.Littrell,seconded by Mr.Inks,the following items were added to the Agenda: <br /> - Request to Advertise for Bids - Studebaker National Museum - Project No. 103-072 <br /> - Request to Advertise for Bids - Parking Structure No. 1 Phase 2A - Project No. 104-019 <br /> - Title Sheet - Studebaker National Museum - Project No. 103-072 <br /> - Agreement Amendment - The Schneider Corporation <br /> OPENING OF BIDSfAWARD BID - MICHIGAN STREET SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS <br /> (COLLEGE FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME PLAZA) - PROJECT NO. 103-036B (TIF) <br /> This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The <br /> Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br /> which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br /> KASER SPRAKER CONSTRUCTION, INC. <br /> Bid was signed by Gary L. Spraker <br /> Non-Collusion Affidavit was in order <br /> Non-Discrimination Commitment form was not signed but was signed during the meeting <br /> Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br /> BID: $136,500.00 <br /> ALTERNATE: $16,120.00 <br /> RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. <br /> Bid was signed by Christopher L. Weinkauf <br /> Non-Collusion Affidavit was in order <br /> Nan-Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br /> Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br /> BID: $129,475.00 <br /> ALTERNATE: $19,225.00 <br /> 71OLK.OWSKI CONSTRUCTION, INC. <br /> Bid was signed by Ben Ziolkowski <br /> Non-Collusion Affidavit was in order <br /> Non-Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br /> Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br /> BID: $117,999.99 <br /> ALTERNATE: $14,900.00 <br /> THE ROBERT HENRY CORPORATION <br /> Bid was signed by Stephen Henry <br /> Non-Collusion Affidavit was in order <br /> Non-Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br /> Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br /> BID: $129,554.00 <br /> ALTERNATE: $15,234.00 <br /> Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell,seconded by Mr.Inks and carried,the above bids were referred <br /> to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br /> Jason Durr,Engineering,recommends that the Board award the contract to Ziolkowski Construction <br /> Company in the amount of$117,000.00 subject to financing. Therefore,Mr. Littrell made a motion <br /> that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded <br /> the motion which carried. <br />
