REGULAR MEETING MAY 10, 2004 <br /> Garcia, 458 South Harris Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party <br /> on May 22,2004,from 11:00 a.m.to 11:00 p.m.Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot,seconded by Mr. <br /> Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br /> FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - REQUEST TO VACATE PROPERTY - PRAIRIE <br /> AVENUE FROM CHAPIN STREET TO SCOTT STREET <br /> Mr. Gilot indicated that Mr. Bill Schalliol, Community & Economic Development, South Bend, <br /> Indiana,has submitted a request to vacate the above referred to property. Mr. Gilot advised that the <br /> Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this Vacation Petition from the Area <br /> Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, Department of Economic <br /> Development and the Department of Public Works. Engineering recommends approval of the <br /> vacation subject to completion of an alternative route, and would approve vacation/closure of the <br /> south lanes subject to revisions to the existing curb openings,etc.,to accommodate two-way traffic <br /> in the north half. Area Plan recommends the vacation not be effective until additional right-of-way <br /> is dedicated and a new road is built. According to State Statute (36-7-3-12),the petitioner must be <br /> an owner of or an interested party in any lots contiguous to the right-of-way. In addition, if these <br /> rights-of-way are vacated, they be done so subject to any utility easements that are necessary. <br /> Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the Clerk send a letter to the petitioner addressing these <br /> concerns. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. <br /> APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION -TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY- <br /> INSTALLATION OF AWNING - 122 SOUTH MICHIGAN <br /> Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt of a Revokable Permit for the installation of sign for <br /> the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. <br /> Littrell and carried,the Revokable Permit was approved,subject to coordinating the placement and <br /> specifications with the City Engineer. <br /> APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION -TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY- <br /> INSTALLATION OF SIGN <br /> Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt of a Revokable Permit for the installation of an awning <br /> at 122 South Michigan. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr.Littrell and carried,the <br /> Revokable Permit was approved. <br /> APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION -TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY- <br /> INNSTALLATION OF AWNING - 2801 SOUTH MICHIGAN <br /> Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt of a Revokable Permit for the installation of an awning <br /> at 2801 South Michigan. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, <br /> the Revokable Permit was approved. <br /> APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION-TO CONDUCT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS 5K <br /> RUN/WALK <br /> Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting, Park <br /> Department,Police Department and the City Attorney's office,in reference to a request as submitted <br /> by Ms. Maureen Kennedy, 1700 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above <br /> referred to run/walk on October 2, 2004, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m., on the designated route as <br /> submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the <br /> recommendation was approved. <br /> APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - SUNNYSIDE FROM EAST <br /> MONROE TO TWYCKENHAM - BLOCK PARTY <br /> Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting,Police <br /> Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Kelly Neuklis, <br /> 1326 East Monroe, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on June 5, <br /> 2004, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and <br /> carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />
