REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 8TH, 1949 Be it-, remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend,, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council Chamber, August 8th, 1949, at 7 :12 P•M. Central Standard Time with all members present except Councilman Kemper. President Erler presided at the meeting. Councilman Tsllson• made a motion to suspend the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting. Councilman Beetle seconded the motion. Motion carried. PETITION STATE OF INDIANA ) SS PETITION FOR REZONING ST. JOSEPH COUNTY ) To the City Plan Commission of the City of South Bend: 'The undersigned, Clarence A. Hertel and Leo Stebne r, hereby petition for the change of zoning classification of the following described real estate situated in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, to -wits A part of Out Lot Numbered Fourteen (14) as shown on the recorded Plat of Samuel L. Cottrell's First Addition to the Town of Lowell, now within and a part of the City of South Bend, bounded by a line running as follows, viz: Beginning at the South Nest corner of said Lot, thence running North on the Nest line thereof Twelve (12) rods, or One Hundred Ninety -eight (198) feet; thence East Ten (10) rods, or One Hundred Sixty -five (165) feet; thence South One Hundred Ninety -eight (198) feet to the South line of said lot, which is the North line of mast Colfax Avenue in said City; thence Nest on said line One Hundred Sixty -five (165) feet to the place of beginning, n x from "B" Use Distt4ot and Height and Area District, to "C" Use District and "D" Height and Area District, and in support of said petition respectfully shorn to`your•Honorable Body that they are the owners in fee sin of said above described real estate; that said lot is situated at the northeast corner of Fast Colfax Avenue and North Notre Dame Avenue; that said lot is not improved at this time and that the real estate on East Colfax Avenue in the block immediately west of said property is zoned commercial; that many of the lots in the vicinity of the subject real estate are now used for commercial purposes* Dated this 28th day of July, 1949• STATE OF INDIANA ) SS ST.
