REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 8TH, 1949 <br />Be it-, remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend,, Indiana, met in regular session in the <br />Council Chamber, August 8th, 1949, at 7 :12 P•M. Central Standard Time with all members present except <br />Councilman Kemper. President Erler presided at the meeting. <br />Councilman Tsllson• made a motion to suspend the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting. Councilman <br />Beetle seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />STATE OF INDIANA ) SS PETITION FOR REZONING <br />ST. JOSEPH COUNTY ) <br />To the City Plan Commission of the City of South Bend: <br />'The undersigned, Clarence A. Hertel and Leo Stebne r, hereby petition for the change of zoning classification <br />of the following described real estate situated in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of <br />Indiana, to -wits <br />A part of Out Lot Numbered Fourteen (14) as shown on the recorded Plat of <br />Samuel L. Cottrell's First Addition to the Town of Lowell, now within and <br />a part of the City of South Bend, bounded by a line running as follows, viz: <br />Beginning at the South Nest corner of said Lot, thence running North on the <br />Nest line thereof Twelve (12) rods, or One Hundred Ninety -eight (198) feet; <br />thence East Ten (10) rods, or One Hundred Sixty -five (165) feet; thence South <br />One Hundred Ninety -eight (198) feet to the South line of said lot, which is <br />the North line of mast Colfax Avenue in said City; thence Nest on said line <br />One Hundred Sixty -five (165) feet to the place of beginning, <br />n x <br />from "B" Use Distt4ot and Height and Area District, to "C" Use District and "D" Height and Area District, <br />and in support of said petition respectfully shorn to`your•Honorable Body that they are the owners in fee sin <br />of said above described real estate; that said lot is situated at the northeast corner of Fast Colfax Avenue <br />and North Notre Dame Avenue; that said lot is not improved at this time and that the real estate on East <br />Colfax Avenue in the block immediately west of said property is zoned commercial; that many of the lots in <br />the vicinity of the subject real estate are now used for commercial purposes* <br />Dated this 28th day of July, 1949• <br />STATE OF INDIANA ) SS <br />ST.
