551 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 11TH. 1949 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the <br />Council Chamber, April 11th, 1949, at 8 :05 P.M. with all members present. President Erler presided at the <br />meeting. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />Mayme DuMont, City Clerk <br />Room 5 City Hall <br />South bend, Indiana <br />Lear Madam: <br />April 11, 1949 <br />The Engineers' Club of St. Joseph Valley wish to extend an invitation to the members of the City Council to <br />a technical discussion to be given by Joseph Harrington on "Smoke Abatements. We would appreciate your <br />extending this invitation to the members of the council at their meeting this evening. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />To-the Common Council <br />City of .South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen <br />April 8, 1949 <br />Hearing on petition of The South Bend 0arrent Controller Company for change. of zoning of Lots # 38 to # 45 <br />inclusive in Baker and McHenry's Addition from "B" residence and "A" height and area districts to "D" light <br />industrial and "E" height and area districts was held by the City Plan Commission at their regular meeting <br />April 7, 1949. <br />A remonstrance against this change was filed by the owners of property in the 900 block Roberts Ste and on <br />the 1000 and 1100 block on Emerson St. However these properties are not located within the limits prescribed <br />in Section 25 of the Zoning Ordinance. <br />The lots petitioned for are between Louise St. and Roberts Ste south from Ruskin St. <br />The City Plan Commission recommends the change as petitioned for. <br />CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />D. Motion <br />carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />April 11, 1949 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE N0. 36441, <br />COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE PARKING METER ORDINANCE, ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL ON JUNE 7, 1948". <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in t heir opinion this ordinance should go to <br />the Council as favorable. <br />STANLEY C. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3692 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 3644, COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS THE PARKING METER ORDINANCE, ADOPTED BY THE COMMON <br />COUNCIL ON JUNE 7, 1948. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 1 nay (Kemper). <br />
