SPECIAL MEETING FEBRUARY 25th, 1948 Be it remembered that the Common 'Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, on Wednesday, February 25th, 1948, at 7:50 P.M., with all members present except Councilman Richardson. President Niezgodski presided at the meeting. SPECIAL CALL TO THE CITY CLERK, PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF TIT COMMON COUNCIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA Gentlemen: You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of South Bend, in the State of Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to meet at the -hour of 7:30 P.M. on February 25, 1948, in the Council Chamber for the purpose of acting upon: "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING, RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING A CERTAIN CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT MADE AND ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, AND NORTHERN INDIANA TRANSIT, INC., ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, WHICH SAID CONTRACT RELATES TO TIM RATES CHARGED FOR BUS TRANSPORTATION SERVICES UPON CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGHWAYS IN SAID CITY" also 'SAN ORDINANCE RATIFYING, CONFIRMING AND APPROVING A CERTAIN CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT MADE AND ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, IP1DIAhTA, BY AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS, AND THE STUDEBAKER CORPORATION, WHICH CONTRACT RELATES TO THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND USE OF TWO INDUSTRIAL OR SPUR RAILROAD TRACK SIDING ACROSS CHIPPEWA AVENUE IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA" The Chief of Police or any member of the police force is hereby directed to forthwi% aecopy of this notice on each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting. ORDINANCE N0. 3628 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING, RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING A CERTAIN CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT BADE AND ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, AND NORTHERN INDIANA TRANSIT, INC., ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, WHICH SAID CONTRACT RELATES TO THE RATES CHARGED FOR BUS TRANSPORTATION SERVICES UPON CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGIDVAYS IN SAID CITY. The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Korpal made a motion for suspension of rules. Councilman Kemper seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent (Richardson). The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays - l'absent (Richardson). ORDINANCE N0. 3629 AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING, CONFIRMING AND APPROVING A CERTAIN CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT MADE AND ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, BY AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS, AND THE STUDEBAKER CORPORATION, WHICH CONTRACT RELATES TO THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND USE OF TWO INDUSTRIAL OR SPUR RAILROAD TRACK SIDINGS ACROSS CHIPPEWA AVENUE IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA The ordinance was given first reading by title and second - .reading in.full.
