REGULAR MEETING JANUARi 121, 1948 <br />Be it .remembered that the Common Council of the'City of South'Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the <br />Council Chambers, pity Hall, January 12th, 1948, at 7 :30 P.M., with all members present except Councilman <br />William J. Richardson. <br />President Niezgodski presided at the meeting. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. <br />PETITION <br />The petition was received from residents of North Brookfield Street objecting to the granting of a building <br />permit to the Paul's Kreamo Bakery for extension of garages on North Brookfield Street. <br />(13 Signers) <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that'the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman Muszynski <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />Members of the Common Council <br />City Hall ' <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />January 3, 1948 <br />Attached hereto are copies of reports presented by Mr: William Qualls, Electrical Superintendent, recommending <br />the installation of street lights at King and Portage Esther and Washington, Hawthorne and Jefferson and in <br />the alley intersection between St. Peter and Notre Mane and Colfax and Washington. He also recommended changing <br />the 1000 lumen lights at Sunnyside and Washington and Jacob and Washington to 4000 lumen lights. Pajakowski, :Clerk <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that the petition be placed on file. :Councilman Kemper seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING MONEY FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND AND APPROPRIATING SAID SUM F08 THE USES AND PURPOSES OF THE <br />FOLLOWING BUDGETARY ITEM OF THE BUDGET OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />FOR THE YEAR 1948, TO-WIT: TO D-11, SERVICES PERSONAL, OFFICE OF THE CITY <br />TREASURER, FOR CASHIER IN THE BARRETT LAW ?DEPARTMENT, $900.00, AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />The ordinance was given first "reading by title and second reading in full.
