467 <br />REGULAR MEETING- contd <br />ORDINANCE <br />MAY 26th, 1947. <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN <br />TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />(HOODED ESTATES) <br />The Ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Bishop made a motion thatthe Ordinance <br />be referred to the Committee of the 'Whole for Public Hearing on June 9th, 1947, at 7 :30 P.M. <br />Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING MONIES FBDM THE GENERAL FUND <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND APPROPRIATING SAID SUMS <br />FOR THE USES AND PURPOSES OF THE FOLL0WING BUDGETARY ITEMS, <br />TO -WIT: TO H251, REPAIR OF BUILDING: TO H51, INSURANCE, <br />DECLARING AN URGENCY <br />The Ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Bishop made a motion that the Ordinance be <br />referred to the Committee of the 'Whole for Public Hearing on June 9th, 1947, at 7 :30 P.M. <br />Councilman Korp al seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, The Housing Authority of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is now administering Housing . <br />Projects Numbered 12197 and 12188 pursuant to the provisions of an agreement with the Federal Public Housing <br />Authority; and, <br />M- EREAS, the Local Housing Authority has been notified by the Regional Office of the Federal Public <br />Housing. Authority that it must make application not later than May 31, 1947, for the reservation of these projects <br />for low rent use; and, <br />WHEREAS, Six Hundred Fifty (650) families presently'oecupy the units comprising said projects and no <br />other accommodations are available to them in this community; and, <br />WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interests of the people in this community that these projects be <br />continued under the management.of The Housing Authority of The City of South Bend; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />Section 1. That The Housing Authority of The City of South Bend, Indiana, be and it is <br />hereby authorized and instructed to take such steps as may be necessary or desirable for <br />reserving Projects Numbered 12197 and 12:188 for low rent use.. <br />Section,2. That the application made by The Housing Authority of The City of South Bend, <br />Indiana,# shall be made, on the express condition that the City of South Bend shall not be <br />liable for the payment of any part of the purchase price for the acquisition of said <br />projects but this condition shall not in any manner prevent the Housing Authority from <br />issuing its bonds or other obligations in payment for said projects. <br />Section 3. That the Mayor of the City of South Bend be requested.to assist and co- operate with <br />tie Local Housing Authority in its effort to reserve said projects for low rent use. <br />,f <br />IM J RI CHARDSON <br />Member of the Common Counci <br />Councilman Bishop made a motion that the Resolution be held in the Committee of the %ale for further <br />study.
