REGULAR MELTING <br />SEPTEMBERw 9th, 1946 <br />Be it remembered that the Gommon Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session <br />in the Council Chambers, City Hall September 9th= 1946, at 8 :30 P.M., with all members present. President Korpal <br />presided. The reading of the <br />e Minutes f the previous meeting was waived. <br />COM UNICATICIIS <br />A letter from C. H. Thompson, Sales Engineer, for Magee -Hale Park -O -Meter Company, Oklahoma City, Okla., <br />was read. <br />Councilman McCarthy made a motion that the communication be referred to the Board of Public Works and Safety. <br />Councilman Richardson seconded the motion. Council <br />City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen: <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />August 20, 1946. <br />We, the undersigned property owners, petition your honorable body to change the zoning of lots #37, 38, 39 <br />in Oakland Park Addition in South Bend, Indiana, from its present classification (B- reidential) to light <br />industrial and "E" Height and Area. <br />(3 Signers) <br />Councilman Bishop made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman <br />Brannan, seconded the motion. Motion carried., <br />PETITION <br />TO THE COMPRON COUNCIL, <br />City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen.: <br />South Bend, Indiana, <br />Sept. 9, 1946. <br />We, the undersigned property osmers, petition your honorable body to re -zone Harris Street from one half block <br />South of Fisher Street to a half block North of Fisher Street, changed from "A" District to "C" District. <br />( 7 Signers) <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman <br />Bishop seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WIOLE <br />TO THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND: Sept. 9, 1946. <br />Your Committee of The''Nhole, to whom was referred an Ordinance amending Ordinance 72331, commonly known <br />as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana. (100 Block.E. North Shore Drive and corner <br />North Main and I\Tavarre). <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this Ordinance should go to <br />the Grievance Committee and that a report be made at the next regular meeting of the Council, on Oeptember <br />23rd. Councilman McCarthy made an amendment that if possible the Grievance Committee meet with both <br />factions on this Ordinance and that perhaps they can come to some understanding, the meeting to be held on <br />September 18th, 1946, it 7 :30 P.M., in the office of the Board of Works and Safety. <br />Councilman Bishop made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Brannan seconded the motion. Motion carrii <br />REPORT OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC ti�'ORKS AND SAFETY <br />September 9th, 1946 <br />Members of the Common Council, <br />City Hall, <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen: <br />Enclosed you will find reports on street lights requested at Ironwood Drive and Donald Street and also at <br />Northwood Drive between Campeau Street and Rockne Drive, which were recommended by Mr. Qualls and ordered <br />in by the Board of Public Works and Safety. <br />Mr. Qualls also informed the Board that street lights ordered in at Kervrood and Fremont 'Streets and also at <br />Huey Street and Vassar Avenue had been installed and were now in service. <br />Very truly yours, <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC ADRK_S AND SAFETY <br />James P.
