Be it remembered that the Common Council of the "City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session,. <br />in the Council Chambers, City Hall, on Thursday, August 1, 1946, at 7 :30 P.M., with all members <br />present except Councilman Mirocha. President Korpal presided. <br />SPECIAL CALL <br />TO THE CITY CLERK, PRESIDENT AND <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL, <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />Gentlemen: <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />August 1, 1946. <br />You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of <br />South Bend, in the State of Indiana, a 'special meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby <br />called to meet at the hour of 7 :30 P.M., on August 1, 1946, in the Council Chamber for the purpose of <br />acting upon an Ordinance determining the tax levy, budget and salaries for the City of South Bend, <br />for the calendar year 1947. <br />The City Clerk is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice on each and every member <br />of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting. <br />F. Councilman 1T eideman seconded the motion. MIction carried. <br />RECESSED :MEETING AUGUST 1, 1946 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, "met in Recessed Session, <br />in the Council Chambers, City Hall, on Thursday, August 1st, 1946, at 8 P.M., with all members present. <br />President Korpal presided. <br />Yayor Dempsey, Chairman of the Finance Committee, made a report stating that the Finance Committee., <br />had met and considered the Mayor's Report concerning the Budget and Tax Levy for the year 1947, and <br />had prepared Ordinances fixing the Tax Levy and the Budget for 1947. <br />Councilman Brannan made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. <br />Yotion. carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONEYS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFI:AYING THE <br />LXPENSES CF ALL BUDG T*OPE1ZATED DEPARTMENT OF THE CIVIL CITY" OF SOUTH <br />B `1D, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1947, AND ENDING <br />DECEMBER 31, 1947, INCLUDING DEPARTMENTS, FUNDS AND CONMISSIONS FOR WHICH <br />MONEY IS APPROPRIATED, IN WBDLE OR IN PART, FROM FUNDS OTHER THAN THE <br />GENERAL FUNDS OF SAID CITY, TO -'WIT: STREET, TRAFFIC AND PARK DEPARTMENTS, <br />FIREMEN'S PENSIONS AND POLICLIV1EN'S PENSION FUNDS, AND THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION: <br />PRO 1MING Tai iT SUCH APPROPRIATIONS SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND <br />OBLIGATIOi1S:_FIXING THE SALARIES OF ALL CITY CFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES:: PROVIDING <br />PAID VACATIONS FOR CERTAIN OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES: REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES <br />AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HER nZ1H: PROVIDING A TIME T&EN THE SAME <br />SHALL TAKE EFFECT. <br />The Ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman McCarthy made a motion that the <br />Ordinance be set for public hearing on August 26th, 194fj1.7:30 PC Gilman Richardson seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />
