<br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 8th, 1945
<br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City cf South bend, Indiana, met in regular session
<br />in the Council Cambers, City Hall, on 14onday, October 8th, 1945, at 8 :40 P.M., with all members
<br />present except Councilman Hull. President Tirocha presided. The reading of the minutes of the previous
<br />meeting was waived.
<br />C0181UNI CAT IONS :
<br />A communication from Nrs. A. Hansen, 1007 X. Allen Street, South bend, with regard to the proposed
<br />change of time for the City of South Lend, was read and upon the motion of Councilman Bishop,
<br />seconded by Councilman Neizgodski, it was ordered placed on file. Motion carried.
<br />A communication from C. R. Steck, Secretary of the St.Joseph County Building Trades Council,
<br />with regard to securing a local engineering firm to oversee the sewage disposal project coming up
<br />in the near future, was read and upon the motion of Councilman Brannan, seconded by Councilman
<br />Heideman, the communication was ordered placed on file. Motion carried.
<br />A communication from Nathan Levy, City attorney, with regard to his conversation with the Corporation
<br />Counsel of the City of Chicago, Mr. Barnet Hodes, concerning the continuation of Day Light Saving
<br />Time or Central 7,7ar Time, was read and upon the motion of Councilman Richardson, seconded by Ccuncilman
<br />Bishop, the communication was ordered placed on file. illotion carried.
<br />A communication from F. Kenneth uempsey, Mlayor of the City of South Fend, in regard toOrdinance No. 3537,

<br />made e motion that the Mayor and the City Attorney get together and bring before the Council such
<br />amendments to the Ordinance as are necessary. Councilman Heideman seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />A communication from James P. Conboy, Clerk of the Board of V'r`orks and Safety, together with the minutes
<br />of two special meetin7s of the Board at which time the general subject matter of employment in
<br />connection with the sewage disposal project was involved, were read and upon the motion of Councilmai
<br />Heideman, seconded by Councilman. Bishop, the communication and minutes, were ordered placed on file.

<br />PETITION:
<br />TO THE HONORABLE AIENB128 OF THE CO -151ON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
<br />Ye, the undersigned owners in fee of the real estate situated on the North vest corner of Prairie
<br />;Avenue, and Magnolia Street, comprising of lot number 19, Swygart's Third addition to the City of
<br />South Bend, respectfully petition your Honorable Body for an amendment to the existing zoning code
<br />of the said City, to provide for a change of said code as follows:
<br />Wh`hereas, said area designated is now half "C" Commercial district, "D" Height and ,Area, and "B"
<br />Residential, "A" Height and Area, it is the desire'of the undersigned comprising more than 501.
<br />of the adjacent owners of the said block to change the said Residential and Height area district
<br />as it affects the said Lot No. L9 to all "C" Commerical and "D" :eight and Area. •

<br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, STATE OF INDIANA ".
<br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the ordinance shall
<br />be reported to the Council as favorable.
