<br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session, in the
<br />Council Chambers, City Hall, on Monday, July 30th, 19450 at 7 :30 P.M., with all members present.except
<br />Councilman McCarthy. President Mirocha presided.

<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
<br />Gentlemen:
<br />You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of
<br />South Bend, In the State of Indiana, a Special 141eeting of the Common Council of said City, is hereby called
<br />to meet at the hour of 7 :30 o'clock r.11.; on July 30th, 1945, in the Council Chambers, for the purpose of acting
<br />upon an Ordinance determing the tax levy, budget and salaries for the Ciity of South bend, for the calendar
<br />year 1946,, and an Ordinance for additional compensation to certain officers of the City of South Bend.
<br />The City 'Clerk is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice on each and every member of the
<br />Common "Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting.

<br />The Council was then presented,by the Mayor with the report and estimate for the 1946 Budget and Tax Levy.
<br />Rouncilman Richardson made a motion to refer the Report`.of °the Conroller concerning the Budget and Tax Lever
<br />for 1946, to the Finance Committee, Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />ORDINANCE
<br />AN. ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL COl11PENSATION AT THE RATE OF $1,200.00 EACH PER YEAR
<br />TO BE PAID FROM THE FUNDS OF THE WATER WRKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, TO THE FOLLOWING
<br />OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, TG -? "AZT: THE MAYOR, CITY ATTORNEY, CITY ENGINEER, CITY CONTROLLER
<br />AND CITY CLERK: AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE PROPER OFFICERS OF SAID CITY TO MAKE SUCH PAYMENTS
<br />FROM AND AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE: DECLARING All EMERGENCY.
<br />The Ordinance was given first and second reading: Councilman Richardson made a motion to refer the Ordinance
<br />to the Finance Committee. Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the City Clerk, notify the heads of e.11 the Departments to be present
<br />at a meeting of the Finance "Committee, Tuesday, July 31st, 1945, at 7 :30 P.M., Councilman Heideman seconded
<br />the motion. Motion carried.
<br />Connc3 aman Richardson made a motion that the. Council recess, until July 31st, 1945, at 7 :30 P.M. Councilman
<br />Bishop seconded the motion. Motion carried,
