381 <br />MARCH 26 , 1945 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in regular session in the vCouncil 'Chambers, <br />City Hall,, on Monday, March 26, 1945 at 7:32 P.M. with all members present. President Mirocha presided. The read- <br />ing of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. <br />REPORT OF THE C(7,2,.2ITTEE OF THE I "Ml 01L March 26, 1945 <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance transferring $7,158.00 from the General Fund of the <br />City of South Bend to budgetary account No. P724, Motor Equipment - in the budget of the Police Department; declari <br />an emergency ". <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall go to the <br />Council favorably. <br />• EILLIAM J. RICHARDSON, Chairman <br />Councilman Bishop made a motion to accept the report. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3520 (as amended) <br />Al? ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $7,158.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BE14D TO BUDGETARY ACCOUNT NO. P724, MOTOR EQUIPI:!IENT - IN THE BUDGET OF THE - <br />POLICE DEPART"TENT; DECLARING AN ENRERGENCY. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />V..g0T.TTT TOM <br />WHEREAS, in the budget of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the year 1945, it was anticipated that the amount <br />of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) would be transferred from the City grater Works of said iCity to the General <br />Fund of said City, and <br />WHEREAS, in the budget as finally passed and approved, such item was included and anticipated. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that: <br />1. The proper officers of the City Water Works of South Bend, Indiana, be, and the same are hereby authorized and <br />directed to transfer forthwith the sum of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) from and out of the funds of said <br />Water Works to the General-Fund of the City of South Bend. <br />2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and its <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />Councilman McCarthy made ,4 motion for adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Richardson seconded the motion. Motio <br />carried. <br />President Mirocha suggested that the-'Sewers & Drains Committee investigate the condition of Bowman Creek, also <br />Fisher Street - west. of O fiver St., and Lake Street - north of Western, and report to the Council at the next meeti <br />This-Investigation to be conducted with the City Engineer. <br />Councilman Richardson ma -de a motion that the Council go on record as expressing to. Miss Julia Lane, deputy city <br />clerk, at the time of her termination of office, their sincere appreciation for her fine services and cooperation <br />for the period of the past six years.
