Williams <br />City Civil Engineer <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Dear Mr. Williams: <br />NEW YORK CENTRAL SYSTEM <br />Chicago, December 4, 1944 - <br />Crossing protection, flashing light signals in combination with short arm gates, required by South Bend city ordin- <br />ance, has been installed at crossing of Arnold Street with the N.Y.C. main line. <br />The physical work was started on October 13; the facility placed in service November 21; and the work completed on <br />November 28. <br />cc: Mr. G. Motior. <br />carried. <br />REPORT OF THE C014MITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Dec. 11., 1944 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An ordinance reducing budgetary item K11 - dog pound salaries in <br />the budget for the year 1944 in the amount of $300.00; appropriating the amount of $300.00 from the General Fund of <br />the City.of South Bend to budgetary account of #H214 - telephone and telegraph in the budget of the Board of Public <br />Works andSafety; declaring an emergency. <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall be reported <br />to the Council favorably. <br />AM.
