2A • ] Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council Chambers, City Hall, April 24, 1944, at 7 :30 P.M. with all members present except Councilman Hull. President Niez- godski presided. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. Councilman Richardson seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDDINANCE REQUIRING THE NEWYORK CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPANY TO INSTALL AND MAID ?TAIN THE LATEST IMPROVED AUTOMATIC FLASHLIGHT SIGNALS AND AUTOMATIC SHORTARIA GATES AT THE ARNOLD STREET CROSS- ING WITH ITS MIGHT -OF -WAY IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA The ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Richardson made a motion to set the ordinance for lie hearing on May 8, 1944. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN OR'KYANCE ANNEXING CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA The ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Brannan made a motion to set the ordinance for public. hearing on RIay 8, 1944. Councilman Mirocha seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE N9. 3483 .AN ORDINANCE APPROVING .? CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BENDT INPTNA, AND THE BI- LATERAL HOSE COMPANY OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN FIRE HOSE IN THE WOUNT OF $2,330.00. The ordinance was given first and second reading. Upon a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays - l absent; the rules were suspended and the ordinance given third reading.
