337 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session, Monday, June <br />14, 1943, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, with all members present except Councilman Richardson. <br />President Brannan presided. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. <br />A communication signed by D. E. Williams and A. L. McCracken, relating to dogs running at large, was read and order- <br />ed placed on file on motion of Councilman Niezgodski, seconded by Councilman Bishop. <br />A copy of a letter written by Ernest H. Miller, City Traffic Engineer, to Alex Ewald, in answer to a communication <br />regarding the color combination of school signs, was ordered placed on file on motion of Councilman McCarthy, <br />seconded by Councilman Bishop. <br />A communication regarding trash removal; signed by the South Bend Civic Planning Assn. Inc., was referred to the <br />Board of Public Works for considerations on motion of Councilman Bishop, seconded by Councilman Hull. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE MHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance reducing the appropriation for repairs of buildings. <br />and structures in the cemetery department of the City of South Bend, Indiana in the amount of 1500.00; appropriatinE <br />$$500.00 to the properties - other equipment fund of the cemetery department of the City of South Bend, Indiana; de- <br />claring an emergency: <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall be reported <br />to the Council favorably. <br />STANLEY C. KORPAL <br />Chairman Pro Tem <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to accept the report. Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3451 <br />Aq ORDINANCE REDUCING THE APPROPRIATION FOR REPAIRS OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN <br />THE CEMETERY DEPA M- ENT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA IN THE AMOUNT OF x$500.00; <br />APPROPRIATING $500.00 TO THE PROPERTIES - OTHER EQUIPMENT FUND OF THE CEMETERY DE- <br />PA-ffMMENT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: DECLARING AN 34ERGENCY. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent (Richardson). <br />O319I103TCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDIAIG AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "(Zoning Ordinance)" <br />The ordinance was given first and second readings. Councilman McCarthy made a motion to refer the ordinance to the <br />Committee of the Whole for public hearing on June 28. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion.
