296 <br />Be it remembered that the members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana „met in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Hall, Monday, January 5, 1942, at 7 :30 P.M. for the purpose of electing officers for the year <br />1942. All members were present and Mayor Pavey asked for nominations for the presidency. <br />Councilman Richardson nominated Councilman Pulaski for the presidency._ Councilman McCarthy seconded the nomination. <br />Councilman Jordan made a motion that the nominations be closed. Councilman McCarthy seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. Councilman Pulaski elected president of the Council by a unanimous vote. <br />Councilman McCarthy made a motion that George Hull be nominated for the vice presidency. Councilman Niezgodski <br />seconded the motion. Councilman Bishop made a motion that the nominations be closed. Councilman McCarthy seconded <br />the motion. Nominations closed.
