Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in regular session in the Council Chambers,
<br />City Hall, Monday,'Deeember 8, 1941, at 7:41 P.M. with all members present. President Richardson presided. The
<br />reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived.
<br />The Clerk read three communications (The St. Hedwige Parent - Teacher Association, Young Men's Civic Club of St.
<br />Hedwige Parish and Polish - American Democratic Club of St. Hedwige Parish) petitioning the Council for police protec-
<br />tion for school children attending St. Hedwige school at the intersection of Chapin and Napier streets.
<br />Councilman Niezgodski made s. motion that the petition be referred to.the Board of Safety with a request that such
<br />police protection be given. Councilman Pulaski seconded the motion. Motion carried.

<br />DATED DECEMBER 1st, 1941.
<br />The ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Pulaski made a motion for the. suspension of rules.
<br />Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. The ordinance was
<br />given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays.
<br />RESOLUTION
<br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTAIN PAYMENTS TO BE MADE TO CITY EMPLOYEES
<br />Whereas, the City of South Bend is approaching the close of its fiscal year; And,
<br />WHEREAS, the office of the City Controller will be required to make numerous payments and close its numerous and
<br />complicated accounts; And,
<br />(WHEREAS, it is desirable that the work of said office be simplified when possible,
<br />INOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
<br />(Section I. That all employees of the city shall be paid their salaries in full for the month of December on the 1
<br />of said month.
<br />(Section II. The Controller of the City of South Bend, is hereby authorized to make said salary payments upon said
<br />date.
<br />Section III. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and
<br />its approval by the Mayor.
<br />Councilman McCarthy made a motion for the adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Motion
<br />carried.
<br />There being no further business, Council adjourned at 8:.05 P.M. on motion
