294 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in regular session in the Council Chambers, <br />City Hall, Monday, November 24, 1941, with all members present. President Richardson presided. The reading of the <br />minutes of the previous meeting was Waived. <br />The Clerk read a communication from Congressman Robert-A. Grant relative to a Resolution (copy) forwarded to him on <br />Council motion. The communication was ordered placed on file. <br />REPORT OF THE COI!ITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of -South Bend :: Nov. 24, 1941 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to-whom was referred "An Ordinance amending Ordinance #2243, being an-'ordinance regulat. <br />ing all matters concerning or pertaining to the construction, alteration, repairs of additions to, remodeling, use <br />or occupance of buildings, or their parts, and structures of every nature in the City of South Bend, Indiana, etc. <br />(Selling of electric light bulbs and fuses) <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the City Attorney shall be instruct <br />ed to revise the amendment to the ordinance to set up a license fee for the sale of fuses but that the amendment <br />still allow the sale of electric light bulbs without a license. <br />LEO M. JORDAN, Chairman <br />Councilman Hull made a motion to accept the report. Councilman Pulaski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENiDING ORDDINANCE NO. 2.331 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE. <br />The ordinance 4as given first and second reading. Councilman Pulaski made a motion that the ordinance be referred <br />to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on December 8. Councilman McCarthy seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />Mayor Pavey-addressed the Council and advised the members of the possibility of a request from officials of the <br />State Armory for use of additional property at the present site. <br />There being no further business, Council adjourned at 8::25 l <br />ATTEST <br />CLERK <br />. <br />
