Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regilar session, Monday, August <br />25, 1941, at 11:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, with all members present. President Richardson preside <br />The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. <br />(PETITION <br />TO THE HONORABLE CO!j!MON COUNCIL <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />July 31, 1941 <br />We, the undersigned, being property owners and residents in the vicinity of River Park, petition your Honorable Body <br />to authorize the Grand Trunk Railroad to install proper crossing facilities at 30th and 32nd Streets in order that <br />these streets may be opened to the public from Mishawaka Avenue to Jefferson Boulevard within the next sixty (60) <br />days. <br />Yours respectfully, <br />(Signed) Mrs. Jasper Barnes <br />1111 -27th St., So. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Aug. 25, 1941 <br />Your Committee of the Thole to whom was referred "An ordinance transferring certain funds from the General Fund of <br />the City Water Works Department to the General Fund of the City of South Bend, Ind." <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance should go to the <br />Council favorably. <br />LEO M. JORDAN, Chairman <br />Councilman Brannan made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Pulaski seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Aug. 25, 1941 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An ordinance appropriating monies for the purpose of defraying the <br />expenses of the Policemen's Pension Fund of the city government of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the fiscal <br />year beginning January 1, 1942, and ending December 31, 1942, including all outstanding claims and obligations, and <br />fixing a time when the same shall take effect." <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall he reported <br />favorably to the Council. <br />LEO M. JORDAN, Chairman <br />Councilman Hull made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Pulaski seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE Aug. 25, 1941 <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An ordinance appropriating monies for the purpose of defraying <br />the expenses of the City Plan Commission of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the fiscal year beginning January <br />1, 1942 and ending December 31, 1942, including all contractual obligations and fixing a time when the same shall <br />take effect. <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall be reported <br />to the Council favorably. <br />LEO M. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE MOLE Aug. 25, 1941 <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whome was referred "An ordinance fixing the salaries for the various officials of the <br />Civil City of South Bend, for the period commencing January 1, 1942 and ending December 31, 1942, both inclusive." <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall go to the <br />Council favorably. <br />LEO M.
