He it remembered that the members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Ind ana, met in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Hall, Monday, January 6, 1941, at 7:35 P.M. for the purpose of electing officers for the <br />1941 In the absence of Mayor J. I. Pavey, Councilman McCarthy acted as presiding officer. All members Were pr <br />Councilman Pulaski made a motion for the.'nomination•of Councilman Richardson as president of the Council. <br />man Jordan seconded the nomination. The motion was carried by a vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />Councilman. Pulaski nominated Councilman Hull as vice- president. Councilman Brannan seconded the nomination. <br />Councilman Pulaski made a motion that the nominations be closed. Councilman Brannan seconded the motion. C <br />man Hull Was elected vice- president of the Council by a vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />President Richardson presided and there being no further business, Councilman Pulaski made a motion for the adj <br />ment of the meeting at 7:37 P. M. Councilman McCarthy seconded the motion. Motioncarried. <br />It being called to the attention of the Council that nominations for Chairman of Finance Committee were in order, <br />the meeting reconvened at 7:38 P.M. <br />Councilman Hull made a motion for, the nomination of Mayor J. I. Pavey as Chairman of the Finance Committee. <br />Councilman Pulaski seconded the nomination. <br />Councilman Pulaski made a motion that the nominations be closed. Councilman Brannon seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />was <br />Mayor J. I. Pavey/elected Chairman of Finance Committee by a vote of 9 ayes. - 0 nays. <br />There being no'further business, Council adjourned at 7:40 P.
