Dec. 4, 1939 <br />169 <br />You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in five members of the <br />Common Council of the City of South Bend, .in the State of Indiana, a special meeting of the <br />Common Council of `said city is.hereby called to meet immediately following Special Meeting of <br />he Council called by the Mayor for the same date, Monday, December 4th, 1939, in the Council <br />"hambers of said city, for the purpose of considering the approval of, and ratification of a <br />contract by the Board of Park Commissioners of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and Alen Langel, <br />Trustee of Portage Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana. This contract covers the payment of <br />$6.75 pen man per month taken from the relief rolls of said Portage Township, and employed by <br />the Works Progress Administration on projects sponsored by the Municipal City of South Bend. <br />Also to be considered a Resolution authorizing the City Controller of South Bend, Indiana, to pay <br />on the 20th day of December, 1939, all monthly salaries of officials and employees of said city, <br />becoming due for the month of December, 1939-- <br />The City Clerk if hereby directed to read said call for special meeting of the Council in the <br />presence of Council members, said call having been signed by five members of the Council. <br />(Signed) J. It was agreed to <br />suspend there &ding of the contract._ Councilman Pulaski .made a motion for the suspension of the <br />rules. Councilman Brannon seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 -ayes, <br />0 -nays: The ordinance was given third reading by title. Councilman Pulaski made a motion that <br />the ordinance be passed. Councilman Hull seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote <br />of 9 -ayes, 0 -nays. <br />a <br />RESOLUTION <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL of the City of South Bend, State of <br />Indiana, that the City Controller of said City if hereby authorized and - <br />directed.: to pay on the 20th day of December, 1939, all monthly salaries <br />of officials and employees of said city, becoming due for the month of <br />December, 1939. <br />Councilman Pulaski made a motion that the resolution be adopted. Councilman Heideman seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 -ayes, 0- nays. <br />Councilman Richardson made a suggestion that condolences in the form 'of a Resolution be written <br />by the Clerk and sent to the family of William A. Butler. This suggestion was unanimously <br />accepted. <br />Councilman Brannon made a motion that the Council adjourn.
