AUGUST 14th 19 9 Be it remembered that the Common Council met in the Council Ch2mbers of the City Hall, Monday evening, August 14th, 1939 at the hour if --7:45 P. M. All menbers were present. Preside- -t McCart y presided. PETITION TO THE COMMON COUNCIL. CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. We, the undersigned, being owners ofell of the property herein described respectfully petition your honorable body to Pmemd Ordinsr_ce No. 2331 commonly known as the zoning ordinance 2s it per- tains to Lots numbered`23, 24, 25 in Leeper's ?nd. Addition tl the city of South Bend, Ind. by changing the use district of this property from A residence to C.Commercial and that the height and area district of the aforesaid lots with the addition of lot number 26, be changed from A to E classification. Kittie L. Zetcalf Samuel Leerier Mary L. Maynard by Kittie L. Metcalf attorney in fact by written power of attorney. Councilmen Hull made a motion to referr petition to City Plan Commission. Seconded by Councilman Pulaski. Motion carried. REPORT OF THE OCIP IT'T'EE OF THE WHOLE To the Common Coucnil of the City of South Bend. Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred end ordinance transferring the sum of $300.00 from the account identified as B -14 A•in the City's Ledger of Disbursements, being further ident- fied as the Contengency Fund in the appropriation for the Controller's office-to the account idea - fied as H -14 A. in the city's ledger of disbursements, being further identified as the City Hall Building end Structures Fund in the appropriation for the Bo^rd of Public Works and appropriating said sum for the mrintennnce of the City Hell. Respectfully report that they hive examined the matter and that in their opinion it should be reported favorably to the Common Council. A'motion by Hull and seconded by Brannon that the report be accepted. Motion carried. To the Common Council of South Bend, Indiana.. Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred an oa?d n?nce transferring the sum of $90.00 from the account identified as B -14 A in the city's ledger of disbursements, being further id.enti fied es the Contingency Fund in the appropriation for the Controller's office to the account identified ns V -.4 in the city's ledger of disbursements, being further identified as the Postage Fund in the appropriation for the Department of Health and Charities Pnd'appropriating said sum for use in the .purchase of postage stamps. Respectfully report that they have examined the matter end. that in their opinion it should be re- ported to the Common Council favorably. A motion that the report be accepted was made by Councilma.n-Hull and seconded by Councilmen Puleski.' Motion carried. To the Common Council of South Bend, Indiana. Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred an ordinance fixing the salaries and providing for paid vacations of certpin city officials and employees of the municipal city of South Bend, Indiana, end repealing all ordinances and ports of ordinances in conflict therewith. Respectfully report that they have examined it and in their opinion this ordinance should go to Council favorably. Councilmen Pulaski made a motion th?t this report be accepted and seconded by Councilmen Brannon Motion carried. To the Common Council of the City of South Bend. Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred a resolution of Wage Committee of South Bend Firemen's Assilciation. Respectfully report thpt they have examined the matter and that in their opinion resolution sh be adopted. A motion,by Hull seconded by Neizgodski that the report be accepted. Motion serried. To the Common Council of South Bend., Indiana. Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred nn ordinpnce fixing the salaries fIr the variouF officials of the civil city of South Bend, ind. for the period_ oohh'efci.ng January 1, 1940 and ending December 31, 1940, both inclusive. Respectfully report -that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the ordinance should go to Council farorably. Councilman Hull mPde a motion to accept the report. Motion seconded by Councilmen Richardson. Motion carried.
