All members were present. President <br />McCarthy presided. <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />April 3, 1939 <br />CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CO ?f VON COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />'ate, the undersigned members of the City Council of the City of South Bend, do hereby exercise <br />our power and authorize a special meeting of the City Council immedi�l.tely following; the Commit- <br />tee of the Whole meeting, April 3, 1G39, for the purpose of transferring $1490.00 from the <br />Contingency Fund to the City Treasurer as an emergency to take care of additional clerical <br />expense for the correcting of tabulation of Barrett Law Bonds. <br />J. Brannon <br />Special Ci11 was accepted by Council and ordered placed on file. <br />RES0LUTIQSN <br />RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING $1,490 FRO ?4 THE CTITIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND CONTINGENCY FUND TO CLERK HIRI <br />IN BARRETT LAT DEPARTMENT. <br />INHERFAS: The City of South Bend can save a tremendous amount of,interest if they are able to <br />determine as soon a.spossible how funds shall be allocated and stop interest on $600,000 at six <br />per cent, and <br />WHEREAS, The hiring of additional clerks will speed up the audit, <br />THEREFORE, be it resolved that we, the common council of the City of South Bend hereby transfe <br />and allocate from funds already in the contingency fund in the sum of $1,490 for six additiona <br />clerks and to pay those clerks now employed in the Barrett law department. <br />Dated: April 3, 1939 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Councilman Pulaski made a motion that <br />seconded the motion.
