RECONVENED MEETING AUGUST 22nd, 1938 <br />Be it _remembered that the Common Council met in the Council Chambers in the City Hell, Monday <br />evening, August 22nd, at the hour of 8:25 P. M. All members were present except Councilman <br />James. President Hu11 presided. <br />RESOLUTION: <br />- R E S O L U T I O N <br />WHEREAS, the members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend have taken note of the <br />passing of Dr. Elmer Ward Cole, one of the distinguished citizens of this community, whose <br />influ6nce in all affairs of our people shall forever remain as a. monument to his character, <br />his personality and his Christianity. <br />NOGG; THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Common Ccuncil of the City of South Bend, in meeting of <br />Committeeof the Whole, that the sincere sympathy of this body be extended to his devoted wife <br />and femily And thst a. copy of this resolution be forvnrded to them. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Honorable Mayor of the City of South Bend be, and hes is hereby <br />requested to order the City Hall and all city offices glosed during the hours of the funeral <br />services. <br />Geo.
