<br />Be it Remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the
<br />sgular Session in the - Council Chambers in the City Hall, Monday evening, January 25th,

<br />which were as follows: Councilmen Nelsons Whiteman, Rokop, Goetz, Hull, Jaworaki, Altfeld,
<br />Les, Oakley, Grzeskowiak, Cripe and Gustin, . President Nelson-presided' The Minutes 6f--the
<br />reevious meeting were read and on Motion of Councilman Hull were referred to the Committee
<br />a the Inspection and Supervision of Minutes. Motion carried.'

<br />the Honorable Members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana,.
<br />This is to advise you that we, the undersigned, licensed taxicab drivers of the City , wof--
<br />auth Bend, have heretofore submitted to your Honorable Body a Petition signed by us, and -'`
<br />)llowing that petition a certain ordinance was presented to your Honorable Body, whio:yh -
<br />rdinance would require every taxicab in the city to be operated under a taxi - meter.
<br />This is to further advise your Honorable body that we and each of us are urgently oppose
<br />o this ordinance and earnestly beg the City Council to not consider the same.'
<br />Having in mind. the public good, we now request your Honorable Body to permit taxicab
<br />Aerations to continue under the ordinance now in force. ( Signed by 57 names) On- Motion

<br />3ESOLUTION. INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN JOSEPH S. JAWORSKI.
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of Park Commissioners of the City of South Bend, Indiana, did, o .n:the
<br />15th day of January, 1932, adopt a resolution whereby it authorized the transfer to the generE
<br />fund of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the amount of thirty thousand 0303,000. 00) out of
<br />5 funds accumulated by reason of the tax levy for the Department of Public:; Parks included4 imp
<br />the levy of the civil city of South Bend, Indiana; and,
<br />WHEREAS, on account of the general_ depression the said City has occasion for the use
<br />of said amounts until the first installments of tax for the current year are paid.
<br />NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana,
<br />that such transfer-as above set forth be accepted and be paid-:into the general fund of said
<br />City for uses as authorized therefrom until August 19 1932, and that the said. Department lof
<br />Public Parks be paid interest thereon as would accrue to said Department during such time if
<br />same remained in the public depositgory wherenit is now invested..

<br />RESOLUTION. INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN GEO. F. HULL.;
<br />WHEREAS, God has called to his reward. H.' Monroe Hardman a citizem of the City of South
<br />Bend, who was esteemed and behoved by many of its people, and
<br />WHEREAS, The deceased was for may years a member of the Common Council of the City of
<br />South Bend, ,
<br />THEREFORE, Be it Resolved by this Common Council that the members thereof express their
<br />deepest sympathy to the family of the deceased on account of their bereavement, and that a
<br />copy of this resolution be forwarded t by the City Clerk to the deceased's family.'
