<br />Be it Remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the
<br />4p }a r Session in the Oounoil Chambers in the City Hall, Monday evening July 27th, 1931, at
<br />0 oielock P: M.' All Members present except Councilman Oakley. President Nelson presided. The
<br />Minutes of -the previous meeting were read and on Motion of Councilman Hull were referred to
<br />the Committee on Inspection and Supervision of Minutes: Motion carried:
<br />MOTION. '
<br />Whereas an instrument in writgng was presented to the Common Council of the City of South
<br />Bend, in ;the form of a resolution providing for a recommendation by the Council of a miitnimum
<br />wage for common labor and.the employment of a percent of local labor by public contractors
<br />Whereas such instrument was signed -by Citizens of South Bend not members of the Council.
<br />Therefore be it resolved that such instrument be accepted and placed on file as a Petition, for
<br />the reason that such appears to have been these interest of the signers the of to have such
<br />document so treated. I: W: Cripe, Member Common Council.'

<br />To the Honorable Members of the Common Council, of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
<br />Sirs: American Legion Polish Post No.' 357 of the City of Sccth Bend, went on record at their
<br />last meeting, of having the city of South Bend take such action as may be necessary in arrangirg
<br />a oele'bration during.the year of 1932, for the celebration of the two hundredth anniversary of
<br />the birth of George Washington, who was not only the commander -in -chief of the American army
<br />of the revolution, but was the first President of the United States o America; City of South
<br />Bend should create a commission, so that plans could be prepared for the celebration which
<br />Will be held next year, not only in the United States, but in the Worls, paying the due tribute

<br />TILE OF DETERMINATION TO ISSUE GENERAL PURPOSE BONDS BY THE MUNICIPAL CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />f DIANA.'
<br />Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the Municipal City of South Bend, St.' Joseph
<br />unty State_ of Indiana, that the Common Council and Mayor crfthe City of South Bend, Indiana,
<br />Ordinance Number 2936 duly passed on the 13th day of July, 19312 and approved by .the Mayor
<br />said City on the 14th day of July, 19311 have determined to issue General Purpose Bonds of
<br />id City in the principal sum of $590,000.'00, said bonds to bear interest at the rate of three
<br />and three - quarters per acent per annum and to mature twenty (20) years after date of issue.
<br />The roceeds ofsaid bonds shall be used for general purposes of said city:
<br />Ten.(10) or more taxpayers, other than those who pay poll tax only, who feel themselves
<br />aggreived by such determination may appeal to the State Board of Ta�.Commissioners for further
<br />action by filing a petition therefor with the St Joseph County Auditor.--on or before the
<br />expiration of twenty -nine (29) days from July 15th, 1931,1 In the event of such appeal the State
<br />Bokrd 'of- Tax Commissioners will fix the time and date z for a, hearing in said city.
