<br />City of South Bend, Indiana, and creating a Sanitary District.
<br />The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on
<br />Motion of Councilman Hull was referred to the Committee of the Whole. Motion carried.

<br />An Ordinance Authorizing the Issuance and Sale of general Purpose Bonds in the sum of
<br />Five Hundred and Ninety Thousand Dollars ($590,000.00) and prodding for the time,and manner
<br />of Advertising and the Terms and manner of sale of said bonds.
<br />The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on
<br />Motion of Councilman Whiteman was referred to the Committee of the Whole. Motion carried.

<br />Burning Stop -Light at the Crossing of its tracks with Lincoln Way West and Also with

<br />Rokop, Hull, Jaworski, Altfeld, Hiss, Grzeskowiak, Cripe and Gustin. Ayes 10, Nays 0.

<br />Whereas, the "Kankakee Marsh Region ", located iri Northwestern Indiana formerly constitute
<br />one of the outstanding wild life regions of the middlewest, and such region was a haven for
<br />wild life and teemed with countless thousands of migratory 'girds, and was a paradise for the
<br />hunter and fishermen of former years, and
<br />WHEREAS, this region has been•despoilbd and ruined by ill advised drainage, and
<br />WHEREAS, avast amount of the area attempted to be-drained has proven to be worthless
<br />for farming purposes, a.n&
<br />WHEREAS, within a radius of one hundred (100) miles of this area there resides a populati
<br />more than six million people,
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of 'the City of South Bend, Indiana,
<br />convened in regular session, that it is the unanimous desire of said body that as much of the
<br />"Kankakee Marsh Region" as is practical for a wild life and migratory bird refuge be restored,
