1 0 <br />JANUARY 6th <br />L 93 <br />ANNUAL YEETING <br />MINUTES <br />I <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council met in the Council Chambers in the City Hall <br />January °6th,, 1930, at the hour of 7:40 o'clock P.-M. All members were present. President) <br />Beyer presided. President Beyer nest stated that the retiring,Councilman introduce their <br />Successor; as-each succeeding Councilman in a few words expressed both by the outgoing <br />and incoming Councilman. The Clerk of the Council now states that it becomes the duty-of <br />the Council to elect the Presiding Officer for the ensuing year and asks t1ne pleasure of <br />the Council. Councilman Altfeld nominates the name of Walter I. Fegan for-President. <br />This was seconded by Councilman Grover Whiteman. Councilman Hull makes a. motion that the <br />nominktion be closed and that the Clerk casts the vote for the President- Elect, and <br />Councilman Fegan was elected President of the Council by acclamation for the ensuing year <br />or until his successor be elected and qualified. <br />President Fegan now takes the chair as President: <br />Ttereas the next Business in order was the ele^tion of a Chairman Pro Tem or Vice- <br />President. Councilman Whiteman nominates the name of Councilman Hull as Vi--e President.. <br />Councilman Nelson seconds aad motion and asks that - Vominations be closed,,-and Councilman <br />Hull was declared duly elected Vice President of. the Common Council for t` -e ens,_ing year <br />or until his successor is elected and qualified. The Clerk then cast the vote of the <br />Council for the Vice President elected: <br />President Fegan next stated that a Chairman of the Committe-of- the -Whole should be <br />selectdd. Councilman Hiss. nominates the- °name of John C. Nelson for 04airman of the .Comi- <br />mittee -of -the -- Whole. Councilman Rokop seconds said motion and also makes a. motion that <br />nominations be closed, and Councilman Nelson be duly elected as Chairman of the Committee <br />of- the- Whole for the ensuing year. <br />President Fegan,next states that it,i.s the duty of the Council to select a, Councilman <br />to be their Representative to the City Planning Commission.. Councilman Whiteman makes a <br />motion that Councilman Nelson be selected as Representative of the Council to the City Pla <br />ning Commission. Councilman Cripe seconds said motion and Councilman Rokop makes a Motion <br />that nomination be closed, and Councilman Nelson was selected as Representative to the <br />City Planning Commission. <br />Mr. Iden S. Romig.the retiring City Attorney introdu�ee8 Mr. Walter L. aleme, t the <br />new City Attorney to the Council. <br />There being no further business the Council adjourns at 8:00 o'clock on motion of <br />Councilman Rokop. <br />ATTEST APPROVED <br />PRESIDENT- <br />
