2013 CCAC Ordinance <br />Page 2 <br />• Protect the peace, health, safety or general welfare of the general public and the persons <br />attending such gatherings <br />• Balance the rights of those hosting such events with the rights of quiet enjoyment of the <br />surrounding neighbors <br />• Strengthening collaboration and to help reduce the costs of providing police, fire and <br />emergency medical response services to loud and unruly special events <br />This ordinance sets forth advisory recommendations from the Community Campus Advisory <br />Coalition which are believed to be in the best interests of the citizens of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana. <br />/ ""O "'r , Ge & eryla neWby the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, as follows: <br />Section I. Chapter 14, Article 9, Section 14 -51 addressing "Definitions" of the South Bend <br />Municipal Code is amended by amending the definition of "Community Campus Advisory <br />Coalition" with all other definitions set forth therein remaining the same: <br />Community Campus advisory Coalition (CCAC): a-24 23- member advisory task <br />force consisting of representatives from residential neighborhoods, elected and appointed South <br />Bend Municipal Officials, St. Joseph County officials, University /College Officials, and <br />University /College Student Officials who are charged with identifying neighborhood concerns <br />and proposed action plans to address such concerns. <br />Section II. Chapter 14, Article 9, Section 14 -52 of the South Bend Municipal Code is amended <br />to read as follows: <br />Sec. 14 -52 Community Campus Advisory Coalition (CCAC). <br />(a) CCAC established. In the spirit of promoting positive collaboration and pro- active <br />measures, a 24 24- member Community Campus Advisory Coalition (CCAC) is established. <br />(b) CCAC membership: The initial CCAC members shall include the following individuals <br />or their official designees: <br />Adult Program Coordinator of the Robinson Community Learning Center <br />Chief of Police of the City of South Bend <br />Corporation Counsel City AOemey of the City of South Bend <br />Director of Code Enforcement of the City of South Bend <br />4"' District Common Council Member <br />Holy Cross College official having jurisdiction over off - campus activities <br />Indiana University South Bend official having jurisdiction over off - campus activities <br />Ivy Tech Community College official having jurisdiction over off - campus activities <br />Mayor of the City of South Bend <br />Neighborhood resident selected by the Community Relations Committee and the <br />Residential Neighborhoods Committee <br />
