NEMETH, Mayor COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 Member of the Common Council 4th floor County -City Building South Bend, Indiana Dear Councilmen: 219/284 -9742 Attached is an Ordinance appropriating $150,000.00 from The General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund for the Department of Public Works to finalize payments to the contractors for the Century Center Construc- tion. This money will be placed in The Century Center Construction Fund. It is necessary to point out that the City is in a position to need $298,562.83 to finalize all construction costs. This is a problem of cash flow in that the contributions from the community to the Civic Center Foundation, Inc., are spread out until 1981. Of the $298,562.83 that is needed to pay the final construction costs, I have also requested that the Foundation, through their sources, give us $150,000.00 in advance of previously determined schedules. In recent conversations with the principals of the Foundation, they have agreed to pursue this course of action. The $150,000.00 requested in this Ordinance together with the $150,000.00 from the Foundation will conclude all construction costs for the Century Center. Your approval is requested.
