NEMETH, Mayor <br />COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 <br />May 3, 1978 <br />Members of the Common Council <br />441 County /City Building <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />RE: Bendix Drive Intersection Improvements <br />R & S 7805 <br />Dear Councilmen: <br />The attached appropriation requesting $35,000 represents the cost of <br />improvements proposed at the intersections of Bendix and Bertrand and <br />Bendix and Linden. <br />219/284 -9251 <br />As you are aware, Bendix Drive makes two right -angle turns at these <br />intersections. As a result, a great deal of congestion exists, particularly <br />when businesses in the Industrial Park and The Bendix Corporation itself <br />conduct shift changes. With the up and coming development of the shopping <br />mall at Bendix and Ardmore Trail, this office has proposed certain improve- <br />ments in order to increase the capacity of arteries serving this general <br />area. This appropriation will address two such improvements. <br />Your favorable consideration is requested.
