NEMETH, Mayor <br />COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 <br />April 17, 1978 <br />Members of the Common Council <br />441 County /City Building <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />RE: Signalization Improvements at Ten Plus Three Intersections <br />Dear Councilmen: <br />219/284 -9251 <br />Two ordinances have been presented for your review requesting $21,700 and <br />$35,800 from the Local Roads and Street Fund for improvements proposed at <br />a total of thirteen (13) intersections. <br />Federal -Aid Urban Funds have been approved through MACOG, the Indiana State <br />Highway Commission, and the Federal Highway Department for two separate <br />signalization improvement projects. Those intersections listed under these <br />projects are as follows: <br />Miami and Ewing Avenue <br />Miami and Calvert <br />Miami and Indiana Avenue <br />William and LaSalle Avenue <br />William and Colfax Avenue <br />William and Washington Avenue <br />William and Jefferson Boulevard <br />Western Avenue and Summit <br />Lafayette Boulevard and Wayne Street <br />Lafayette Boulevard and Western Avenue <br />Donmoyer Avenue and Michigan Street <br />Bendix Drive and Westmoor <br />Taylor and Western Avenue <br />The Federal Highway Department will be funding 70 per cent of the costs of <br />these improvements ($294,000). <br />
