REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 23 196 <br />ORDINANCES, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO <br />ACCOUNT Q -27, "OTHER CONTRACTUAL.SERVICES ", <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500.00 AND THE TRANSFER <br />OF THE SAME FROM ACCOUNT Q -11, "SERVICES <br />PERSONAL ", ALL BEING IN THE GENERAL FUND. <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Palmer made a motion <br />that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on November 13, 1967.Counc lman:Szymkowiak sec6nded'- the:m6 on. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCES, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO <br />ACCOUNT E -21, "COMMUNICATION AND TRANSPORTATION ", <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $150.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF THE <br />SAME FROM ACCOUNT E -55, "SUBSCRIPTIONS AND DUES ", <br />ALL BEING IN THE GENERAL FUND. <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Smith made a motion <br />that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on November 13, 1967. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 170 -67 <br />RESOLUTION FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS <br />IN THE PARK GENERAL FUND - -- $4,000.00 AND THE <br />TRANSFER OF THE SAME FROM ONE ACCOUNT TO <br />ANOTHER IN THE SAME CATEGORY OF THE PARK <br />GENERAL FUND. <br />WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget, <br />so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget for the. <br />various functions of the Department of Public Parks to meet such extraordinary emergencies, and <br />WHEREAS, it has been ascertained that certain accounts in the Park General Fund have more money than is needed <br />at this time. <br />Section 1. That the following accounts be reduced in the amounts set opposite said accounts: <br />Acct. No. Classification Item Amount <br />251 Services Contractual Repairs to Bldgs. & Structures $ 800.00 <br />261 Services Contractual Other Contractual Services 1,500.00 <br />264 Services Contractual Paving 1,700.00 <br />$ 4,000.00 <br />Section 2. That the following accounts be increased in the amounts opposite said accounts: <br />Acct. No. Classification Item Amount <br />221 Services Contractual Electric Current $ 2,200.00 <br />222 Services Contractual Gas 1,800.00 <br />4,000.00 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of South Bend that the sum of $4,000.00 in the accounts <br />specified in Section 1, be transferred to the accounts specified in Section 2 of this Resolution. <br />That the transfer of funds as set forth in Section 1 and 2 are required for the proper and efficient operation <br />and function of the Department of Public Parks of South Bend, Indiana, and an extraordinary emergency is <br />declared to exist concerning the foregoing transfer. <br />/s/ Walter M. Szymkowiak <br />Speaking in favor of the Resolution was Superintendent of Parks, Charles VanDeVeire. Councilman Szymkowiak <br />made a motion that the Resolution be adopted by a roll call vote. Councilman Laven seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. The Resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of 6 ayes, (Councilmen Hunter, Allen, Palmer, <br />Szymkowiak, Laven and Smith), 0 nays, 3 absent, (Councilmen Wise, Geib and Muszynski). <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Councilman Allen asked that the Clerk be instructed to communicate with the City Prosecuting Attorney <br />in regard to weed complaints received by the Board of Health, She further - requested- that the `Council be- provided <br />-with a' written statement indicating 'the digpositiori of 'these cases. President Hunter then instructed the <br />Clerk to expedite the communication. <br />There being no further business before the Common Council, Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion to adjourn. <br />Councilman Palmer seconded the motion.
