<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 40 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
<br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 1962, AS AMENDED, ALSO
<br />KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 3702, THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE
<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS AMENDED.
<br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, (Councilmen Hunter, Allen,
<br />Palmer, Wise, Geib, Szymkowiak, Laven and Smith) 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Muszynski).
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 4948 -67
<br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS TO ACCOUNT
<br />Q -25 "REPAIRS OF EQUIPMENT" IN THE AMOUNT OF $400.00
<br />AND TO ACCOUNT Q -72, "FURNITURE AND EQUIPMENT" IN THE
<br />AMOUNT OF $2,000.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF SAID SUMS FROM
<br />ACCOUNT Q -11 "SERVICES PERSONAL" IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT,
<br />ALL IN THE GENERAL FUND.
<br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, (Councilmen Hunter, Allen
<br />Palmer, Wise, Geib, Szymkowiak, Laven and Smith), 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Muszynski).
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 168 -67
<br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION OF
<br />THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 23 OF THE
<br />UNITED STATES HOUSING ACT OF 1937,
<br />AS AMENDED, TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA.
<br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 23 of the United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended, the
<br />Public Housing Administration is authorized to provide financial assistance to local public housing agencies
<br />in providing low -rent housing by leasing dwelling units in existing privately -owned structures; and,
<br />WHEREAS, said Section 23 provides that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any locality unless the
<br />governing body of the locality has by resolution approved the application of such provisions to such locality.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, that the application
<br />of the provisions of Section 23 of the United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended, to the City of South
<br />Bend, Indiana is approved.

<br />Speaking in favor of the Resolution was Jesse Dickinson, Executive Director of the South Bend Housing
<br />Authority and William Voor, Attorney. Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the Resolution be adopted
<br />by a roll call vote. Councilman Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried. The Resolution was adopted
<br />by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, `(Councilmen Hunter, Allen, Palmer, Wise, Geib, Szymkowiak, Laven and Smith)
<br />0 nays, 1 absent,(Councilman Muszynski).
<br />There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Geib made a motion to adjourn.
<br />Councilman Wise seconded the motion. Motion carried. Time:
