COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING September 11, 1967 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole <br />in the Council Chambers in City Hall, on Monday, September 11, 1967, at 8 :00 P.M. All members were present <br />except Councilman Muszynski. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Edwin T. Smith, who presided. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 40, SECTION 40 -14 <br />OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, 1963, ALSO KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 3702 <br />AMENDED, AS <br />DED THE ZONING <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF <br />III <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.(Location: Cherry & Napier) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance, was Bruce Stewart, Attorney <br />for Petitioner, South Bend Range Corporation. Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the Ordinance go to <br />the Council as favorable. Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried.' <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 40 OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 1962, <br />AS AMENDED, ALSO KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 3702, THE <br />ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />AS AMENDED (Location: Michigan and Ireland) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was Mr. Lloyd Taylor, City <br />Engineer. Speaking in remonstrance, and asking several questions, was Mr. Wilbur Rock, 19765 Ireland Road. <br />Councilman Laven made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Hunter seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS TO ACCOUNT <br />Q -25 "REPAIRS OF EQUIPMENT" IN THE AMOUNT OF $400.00 <br />AND TO ACCOUNT Q -72, "FURNITURE AND EQUIPMENT" IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $2,000.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF SAID SUMS FROM ACCOUNT <br />Q -11, "SERVICES PERSONAL" IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, ALL <br />IN THE GENERAL FUND. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. `Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was Assistant Fire Chief, R. <br />Busfield. Councilman Geib made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman <br />Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Allen made a motion to rise and <br />report to the Council.
