6 <br />.COMMITTEE -,OF THE_WHOI.E MEETING AUGUST-1 —4, 1967 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole <br />in the Police Classroom at the Municipal Services Facility, on Monday, August 14, 1967, with all members present. <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Edwin T. Smith, who presided. Chairman Smith introduced Reverend F. A. <br />Whetstone, Stewart Memorial Baptist Church, who gave the invocation. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING AND BRINGING WITHIN THE <br />CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS, <br />(Location: East side of Ironwood Rd., South <br />of the City boundary). <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Mr. Richard Muessel, petitioner, answered questions pertaining to the <br />annexing of the property to the City. Councilman Geib made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO <br />ACCOUNT L -72, "EQUIPMENT ", IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$2,500.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF THE SAME FROM <br />ACCOUNT L -11, "SERVICES PERSONAL" IN THE ENGINEER- <br />ING DEPARTMENT, ALL BEING IN THE GENERAL FUND. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was Mr. Lloyd Taylor, City Engineer. <br />Councilman Hunter made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Laven seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 40 -27 AND 40 -28 <br />OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, 1962, AS AMENDED, ALSO KNOWN AS SECTIONS <br />10 AND 11 OF ORDINANCE NO. 3702, THE ZONING ORDINANCE <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS AMENDED. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance were Mr. Forrest West, Building Commissioner; <br />and Martin Kleva of the Area Plan Commission. Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the Ordinance go to the <br />Council as favorable. Councilman Wise seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION <br />TO ACCOUNT Q -43, "REPAIR PARTS," IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $1,400.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF THE SAME FROM <br />ACCOUNT Q -11, "SERVICES PERSONAL," IN THE FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT, ALL BEING IN THE GENERAL FUND. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance, was Mr. Cecil McHenry, Fire Chief. <br />Councilman Palmer made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Wise made a motion to rise <br />and report to the Council.
