438 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole <br />in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, April 24, 1967 at 8:00 P.M., with all members present. <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Edwin T. Smith, who presided. <br />Chairman Smith welcomed students from a Civics class at John Adams High School, who were attending the meeting <br />as part of their studies in City Government. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 40 OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 1962, AS <br />AMENDED, ALSO KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 3702, THE <br />ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />AS AMENDED (Location: East side of York Rd 1237.25 <br />feet South of the center line of Jackson Rd. and <br />commonly known as Southeast Estates) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were givan <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION <br />TO ACCOUNT XX25, "REPAIRS OF EQUIPMENT" IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF '95,000.00 AND THE TRANSFER IN <br />THE SAME FROM ACCOUNT XX72, "MOTOR EQUIPMENT" <br />IN THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT ALL BEING IN THE <br />GENERAL'" FUND. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was'City Engineer, Mr. Lloyd <br />Taylor. Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman <br />Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Allen made a motion to <br />rise and report to the Council.
