<br />by the water method. Also, the tablets are used during that time when benefits might be expected, and then are
<br />discontinued.
<br />5. Benefits:
<br />The use of fluorides during the time when they might help has been shown to reduce the
<br />incidence of dental decay. This dons not mean that all decay will be prevented! Brushing
<br />after meals, reduction in the intake of refined sugars and carbohydrates, using detergent
<br />foods that cleanse the teeth and massage the gums during the hard chewing necessary for di-
<br />gestion are all important. Frequent visits to the dentist for early detection of disease
<br />processes are required.
<br />The Board of Health is convinced that this method, without compulsion, is a safer, surer, less expensive, better
<br />controlled manner of reducing the incidence of dental decay and encourages all its residents to take advantage
<br />of its' use. It is a public service measure on the part of the city and dentists and p�ysicans of the area.
<br />They are anxious to aid you - -just visit the Board of Health clinic or your private practitioner and get on the
<br />path to better dental health.
<br />Councilman Allen made a motion that the Resolution be adopted by a roll call vote. Councilman Szymkowiak
<br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. The Resolution was defeated by a roll call vote of 3 ayes,(Councilmen
<br />Allen, Palmer and Szymko,41ak) 5 nays (Councilmen Hunter, Geib, Laven, Smith and Muszynski) 1 absent (Councilman

<br />INFORMAL PUBLIC HEARING ON BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR 1967 AUGUST 22, 1966
<br />Be it remembered that members of the Common Council met in the Council Chambers of City Hall, August 22, 1966, at
<br />8:20 P.M., with all members present except Councilman Wise. In accordance with a custom set in the past few
<br />years, the meeting was called for the purpose of an informal public hearing on the proposed budget Ordinance
<br />for 1967. The_.mieetfng was called to order by the Chairman of the Committee of the Whole, Edwin T. Smith,
<br />who presided.
<br />Each department was considered separately and speaking on the proposed budget were the following:

<br />James Bickel,.City Controller, Kathryn L. Blough, City Clerk, Philip Potts, City Judge, A. E. Tovey, Manager
<br />of the Morris Civic Auditorium, Lloyd Taylor, City Engineer, Forrest West, Building Commissioner, Clifford
<br />Engel, Cemetery Sexton, Irvin Hampton, Police Chief, R. Busfield, Assistant Fire Chief, Bert Cichowicz,
<br />Weights and Measures Inspector, Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer ,- Richard ,Gartner,Street Commissioner, Howard
